Della Simmons is an American contemporary artist that was born and raised in rural Alabama. While Della considers herself an artist by birth she studied sculpting and printmaking at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. Years afterwards, the stress of a colicky baby led her to find an art medium with less dangerous tools and that is when she picked up a paint brush. Her love of painting continues to grow today.  Della enjoys painting outside as well as inside the studio. Her paintings capture the impression of landscapes and other natural elements using bold colors and various textures. She considers painting an act of gratitude to the Creator for the beauty of His works. She lives in Huntsville, Alabama with her 2 children, her husband plus 2 dogs, a canary and a pet finch.
